STAMPS OF VIETNAM POSTAL
Stamps in Vietnam, introduced the French colonial administration in 1862. The stamps of these decades was originally a French colony for a general class. In 1880, some of them were printed locally Cochinchina (1886-1888), Annam and Tonkin (1888) and the French in Indochina (1889). [2] After this, the final stamps of French Indochina. The colonial French Indochina was now in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. Stamps, particularly in Vietnam, was awarded for the first time in 1945.
During the Japanese occupation of French Indochina (1940-1945), the colonial administration did not receive supplies of stamps from France. That's why I have resorted to printing its own stamps in a print shop in Hanoi. These stamps were of lower quality than before the war, stamps, and also machines used for this purpose, it gradually deteriorated, the limited possibility of repair.
The arrival of special stamps for Vietnam came with the defeat of Japan in 1945. In Vietnam, the surrender of Japan has opened the way for the anti-Japanese Minh Nam, who headed a guerrilla army to capture the main cities and political power in Vietnam. During 1945-1946, the Viet Minh government issued a large number of provisional labels. These stamps were produced by adding an overlay of the remaining stocks of seals during the French Indochina war. Finally, a definitive series of stamps issued Ho Chi Minh 30 piastres 1946.1951 stamps issued by the government of Bao Djaya.
In the ensuing conflict will return to the French troops and the Viet Minh government has closed the first set of stamps Viet Minh. During the conflict, the stamps were issued in several regions of Viet Minh organized, and new questions of French Indochina stamps used in areas controlled by the French.
Around 1950, the national governments of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, was established to give each of stamps and coins in his name. First stamps, and Bao Đại government in Vietnam was in 1951. These stamps to replace the French in Indochina, the French-controlled areas of Vietnam.
With the peace agreement in 1954, Vietnam was divided into a northern and a southern state. Each issued their own stamps.
